Polynator Kaiways
Polynator Kaiways (PK) is a program that will create safe homes for pollinators to return to Manukau City. The aim is to create a network of Polynator Kaiways with three nearby Manukau schools and develop an accredited PK program.
There will be clear guidelines for school-based staff, including caretakers and support staff, that will outline how to care for and eco-source native pollinator plants. Additionally, the program will launch a Sprayfree Manukau Campaign to highlight the return of our important pollinators. At 274Boundary (41 Boundary Rd, Ōtara), we've started a small demonstration of a PK garden which includes plantings of kōwhai, koromiko and kākābeak as well as lesser known natives, creeping fuschia and lovely kaihua - Aotearoa's very own jasmine.
